RUSHAN, China Oct 18, 2024 /AsiaNet=연합뉴스/-- Harvesting, weighing, packing and shipping...Recently, Qingquan Agricultural Plantation in Wuji Town, Rushan City, Weihai City, Shandong Province celebrated a bountiful harvest of soft-shelled kiwis from over 100 mu of land. The farmers loaded the freshly picked kiwis onto trucks for distribution nationwide.

"After years of meticulous cultivation, we can now achieve a yield of 3,000 to 5,000 catties per mu for soft-shelled kiwis. We primarily sell our kiwis through e-commerce channels and distribute them to major cities such as Beijing, Qingdao, and Yantai, where our products are highly favored in the market," said a representative from Qingquan Agriculture. These small soft-shelled kiwis not only increase the income of growers but also create new opportunities for prosperity among villagers. The peak harvesting period requires a large labor force, significantly boosting the income of local communities.

In recent years, various towns in Rushan City have fully tapped into their resource advantages. By adopting differentiated, specialized, and competitive development strategies, they are actively cultivating new forms of distinctive industries to create new pathways for rural industrial prosperity.

As the number of specialized plantations like Qingquan Agriculture continues to grow, Rushan City has established over 20 varieties of specialized fruit plantations, including apples, strawberries, blueberries, kiwis, and cherries. Going forward, Rushan City plans to promote such a distinctive planting model citywide, and guide more farmers to plant distinctive forestry and fruit varieties, thereby enhancing agricultural efficiency through refined management.

"Distinctive fruit cultivation not only boosts farmers' incomes and promotes rural revitalization but also elevates the recognition and competitiveness of Rushan City's agricultural products globally. This allows the advantages of the city's distinctive agriculture to be further developed, thus injecting new momentum into the city's economic growth," stated a cultivation official.
