이누이트 누난가트을 기념하는 2024년 2캐나다 달러 유통 주화 뒷면에 등장하는 예술 작품은 테간 보이시(막코빅, 누나치아부트), 토마시 망기옥(이부지빅, 누나빅), 샬롯 카레탁(아르비아트, 누나부트)와 메리 오케에나(울룩학톡, 이누비알루이트 정착 지역)가 만든 작품이다. 이 주화 안쪽 중심에는 아티기(파카)를 입고 있는 바다의 정령 눌리아죽의 이미지가 있으며, 눌리아죽으로부터 시계 방향으로 바다코끼리, 벨루가 고래 두 마리, 물개, 북극 송어가 그려져 있다. 바깥쪽 고리 오른쪽에는 각 지역에서 볼 수 있는 울루이트(칼)의 전통적인 형상에서 유래한 울루이트에 대한 네 가지의 다른 예술적 해석이 보이는데 여기에는 각각의 아티스트의 서명이 들어 있다. 왼쪽에는 "이누이트 누난가트"이라는 문구가 새겨져 있다. 동전의 앞면에는 캐나다 아티스트 스티븐 로사티의 찰스 3세 국왕의 조상이 들어 있다.

ROYAL CANADIAN MINT CELEBRATES THE PEOPLE, TRADITIONS AND LANDS OF INUIT NUNANGAT ON A NEW $2 COMMEMORATIVE CIRCULATION COIN

OTTAWA, ON Nov. 6, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- The Royal Canadian Mint is issuing a new $2 commemorative circulation coin as an invitation to all people living in Canada to celebrate Inuit Nunangat. This coin is also an invitation to learn more about the distinct ways of life and culture of Inuit thriving in this vast northern homeland. In a first for a Canadian circulation coin, four different artists, each representing one of the four regions of Inuit Nunangat, have collaborated on designing its reverse. On the coin, Inuit unity is symbolized through the four artists' joint representation of the story of Nuliajuk, spirit of the sea, and through an ulu representing each of their homes within the Inuit homeland. This coin will begin circulating as of today.

"Nuliajuk's story is one of the most important in Inuit culture, and we are excited that she will now be honored in Canadian currency, the way we have honored her in our hearts and imaginations since time immemorial. The artwork appearing on the reverse of the 2024 $2 circulation coin celebrating Inuit Nunangat is the creation of Tegan Voisey (Makkovik, Nunatsiavut), Thomassie Mangiok (Ivujivik, Nunavik), Charlotte Karetak (Arviat, Nunavut) and Mary Okheena (Ulukhaktok, Inuvialuit Settlement Region). The inner core of the coin features an image of Nuliajuk, spirit of the sea, wearing an atigi (parka), and clockwise from Nuliajuk are a walrus, two beluga whales, a seal, and an arctic char. On the right of the outer ring appear four different artistic interpretations of uluit (knives), whose appearance is derived from the traditional shape for uluit found in each region, and that act as each of the artist's signatures. The inscription "Inuit Nunangat" appears on the left. The coin's obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.

The coloured and uncoloured circulation coin are also available in 15,000 coloured and 10,000 uncoloured limited-edition special wrap rolls of 25 uncirculated coins each, retailing for $79.95 CAD.
